College profile 

The College of International Education of Shandong Agricultural University is the first batch of Chinese-foreign cooperative undergraduate education institutions officially approved by Shandong Provincial government and the Ministry of Education in 2003. It is jointly organized by Shandong Agricultural University of China and Essen University of Applied Technology for Economic Management in Germany. The license number of the Ministry of Education is MOE37DEA02DNR20030057O.

The college has three undergraduate majors, International Economics and Trade, business administration and accounting, with a four-year academic duration and an annual enrollment plan of 250 students. Students study in Shandong Agricultural University in China for the first and third academic years, and in the fourth academic year, students who meet the requirements will voluntarily study in Germany for one year. Students take courses in both China and Germany to implement mutual credit recognition, and qualified students can obtain the bachelor's degree certificate issued by Shandong Agricultural University and the bachelor's degree certificate issued by Germany Essen University of Economics and Management.

Essen University of Economics and Management, located in Essen, Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, was founded in 1993. It is jointly organized by the Essen Entrepreneurs' Association, the Retail Trade Association, the Federation of Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries, and the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Essen - Muhlheim-Oberhausen). These institutions represent key German companies in the energy supply, retail and services, chemical and glass manufacturing and metal power sectors, ranging from local small and medium-sized enterprises to large multinational conglomerates.At present, FOM University, headquartered in Essen, has developed into one of the largest economic management universities in Germany, covering the fields of economics, management, law, science, engineering and other disciplines, with 10 certified research institutions and 11 research centers, highlighting the school's applied research characteristics. The school has established branch schools in 29 cities such as Berlin, Bochum, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Koln, Munchen, and Vienna, Austria.

Diplomas issued by FOM University are officially recognized by the German government and are also recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education. In 2004, FOM University was accredited by the German Scientific Council of Wissenschaftsrat, Germany's highest academic accreditation body. In 2006, his bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Business Administration were successfully recognized by FIBAA Foundation for the Evaluation of International Business Administration Courses, one of the highest degree certification bodies in Germany. In 2012, the first batch passed the FIBAA's Education Quality System assessment, and all majors were certified by FIBAA, which passed the review and re-evaluation in December 2018. 

The students of the School of International Education study and live in Essen, the sixth largest city in Germany.
