On the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, in order to enrich the students' study life, summarize and exchange the experience and methods of German learning, consolidate and enhance the achievements of students' German learning in the early stage, and effectively improve the students' practical application ability of German, our school held the 'Initial Heart, Mission on the Shoulder' Theme Interpretation Contest to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China participated by sophomores and juniors on June 22.

The competition is divided into two parts: German to Chinese and Chinese to German. In the German-to-Chinese session, the materials used were the keynote speech entitled Looking Forward to German-Chinese Relations in the Fifth Decade of Reform and Opening-up delivered by German Ambassador to China Götzer during his visit to Peking University; The theme of the Chinese-to-German session was the speech delivered by Ambassador Wu Ken to Germany at the online opening event of the China Education Network on November 30, 2020. The contestants responded calmly in the game, quickly captured key information, and skillfully translated them into the target language, and completed every part of the game confidently and smoothly, showing a good demeanor.

 On behalf of all the judges, Mr. Chen Danyu, director and associate professor of the German Teaching Department, commented on the performance of the contestants, affirmed the outstanding abilities of the contestants in information interpretation, voice intonation, language use norms, etc., and pointed out their problems in language fluency and reaction speed, and encouraged them to work the basis of German, and need to further strengthen the exercise of various translation skills and improve their psychological quality.
