Recently, the School of International Exchange held an academic lecture on Twenty Years of Glory, Pursuing the Dream of the Future, and invited Professor Li Yuan of Zhejiang University to give a speech entitled Useless Use? - Exploring the German language. The lecture was chaired by Associate Professor Danyu Chen, Head of the Department of German Language Teaching.
The lecture is divided into three main parts. First of all, Professor Li Yuan introduced the wide application of German as an important international language in economy and culture. She pointed out that with the increasing exchanges between China, Germany and other European countries, German has become a useful workplace skill, which can bring more opportunities and possibilities for students' future career development.
Subsequently, Professor Li Yuan taught the students how to learn German. She pointed out that learning German requires perseverance, focusing on speaking and listening training, reading and writing, and constantly building up vocabulary and grammar knowledge. At the same time, she also suggested that students participate in German corners and cultural exchange activities to improve their practical German application skills. Finally, Professor Li Yuan analyzed the value-added effect of learning German. She pointed out that learning German can not only improve the competitiveness of the workplace, but also enrich students' cultural horizons, enhance cross-cultural communication skills, and lay a solid foundation for future life development.
The whole lecture was rich in content, vivid and interesting, and Professor Li Yuan's in-depth explanation made the teachers and students present gain a lot. The lecture not only gave the students a deeper understanding of German learning, but also stimulated their enthusiasm and interest in learning German.
After the lecture, Professor Li Yuan shared her valuable teaching and research experience with the teachers of the German Teaching Department in the conference room of the college, exchanged her scientific research achievements in the application of German language, and introduced the current research directions and research hotspots in detail.
Professor Li Yuan is a Humboldt Scholar in Germany, a member of the German Sub-Committee of the Teaching Steering Committee of Foreign Chinese and Literature in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, and a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Asian and European Languages of Zhejiang University.
